When a builder’s life no longer felt like the right path – and the cold winds of Finland didn’t call – it was time to turn back toward home. Together with my father, who has been crafting top-level outdoor catering for over two decades, the Peipsimees journey began – quietly, but with determination. Along the way there were highs and lows: falls we rose from, and wins that left a mark on our hearts.
My father Otto has always been my inspiration. I’ve watched him since I was a child, trying to understand his life wisdom and dedication. Back then I only saw the freedom his work seemed to give – not yet knowing that the price of that freedom is hard work and early mornings.
Every outdoor event we host, every smoker we fire up, and every morning we rise with the first sunbeams – or even before them – is a step closer to our dream: one day opening our own café or restaurant that carries forward the flavours and stories of Peipsimaa.
